My Bio

I am an experienced primary school teacher who has been committed to supporting children achieve their full potential. Over the past seven years, I have developed excellent subject knowledge, pedagogy and practise. My specialism is the teaching of phonics and early reading. I have consistently worked in 'Nurture Schools' and have taught children from diverse backgrounds and with various needs and abilities. I am a nurturing and approachable teacher who aims to meet the needs of all my students. Having worked in diverse schools, I have strengthened my ability to create visual, engaging and differentiated resources to support all learners - including bi-lingual learners and SEND children.

I am a creative teacher who is able to deliver motivating, engaging lessons which enables progress of all students. This was recognised in a recent OFSTED inspection at my present school. I also have strong assessment skills and am able to use strategies to respond to children's individual needs. As Key Stage One Phase leader, I had the opportunity to attend a mastery maths 'TRG' (Teaching and Research group) lead by Boolean Maths Hub. I have since embedded Shanghai, White Rose and mastery approaches into my teaching. I have also developed my pedagogy and subject knowledge through the use of various schemes such as 'Talk For Writing', 'Power of Reading' and 'Read, Write Inc'. I am a positive individual with strong communication skills. My skills have allowed me to successfully take on leadership and mentoring roles including Key Stage One Phase Leader and 'Read, Write Inc' Lead. I strongly believe in motivating students so the become confident and independent learners. I therefore always adopt a positive approach to my teaching.
