My Bio

Learn English from a former journalist and current Oxford University graduate student with experience in school education and pedagogy. I can help in basic English language skills as well as advanced essay-writing and allied output. Classes will be customised to the needs of the students.

I am a graduate student on the Social Anthropology program at the University of Oxford currently. I have been a journalist in India, on reporting and editorial roles, for the last 8 years. I mostly write long-form articles on the political economy of gender, labour and culture. I am also a reviewer of books of fiction, and have been commissioned for multiple literary magazines. I am a writer of short fiction and one of my stories made the prestigious Galley Beggar Press Short Story longlist last year. I have been a Teach for India fellow between 2016 and 2018, during which I learnt school pedagogy and taught as a full-time teacher in Indian public schools. With my experience in writing, editing and teaching, I will be suitable to tutor wards in English, essay writing, and allied areas. I am also fluent in Hindi, Kannada and Tamil (in addition to English) and can help in the instruction of these languages if the need arises.
