My Bio

Hi there, I'm an Oxford University Economics and Management graduate with a passion for helping my students reach their full academic potential. I have been tutoring privately for the past 6 years and as such have amassed significant experience across A-level, GCSE, 13+, 11+ and KS1 tutoring in Maths and Economics. As well as this I also offer Oxbridge Interview prep where I go over pointers for the interview, critical thinking tutoring, TSA practice and tips, and guidance for further reading.

Tutoring Experience: - I have tutored several students from around the world to prepare them for Oxbridge Economics interviews and assisting them with interview prep, personal statement editing and critical thinking skills, as well as carefully teaching them the key principles required for the TSA. In addition to this, I provide lessons where I go through model answers to common interview questions, as well as guiding students’ further reading. - Since 2019 I have tutored A-level Mathematics and Economics to a number of students, all of whom have achieved A* or A grades (or equivalent under the new grading system). These students have gone to study at the likes of Oxford, University of California Berkeley and Bath. - I am an experienced GCSE Tutor in Maths, Physics (and Economics if required), with many of my past pupils far exceeding their predicted grades, and the vast majority achieving A*/A grades. - During the COVID lockdown I worked as part of a family’s online home-schooling team, tutoring their children aged 6 and 8 in Maths. I worked closely with the other 5 tutors, scheduling and organising lessons to fit in with the tutees’ preferences, strengths and attention span in certain subjects. The role lasted for the entirety of the 1st and 2nd lockdowns. - I have tutored children prior to both 13+ and 11+ examinations in 2016, 2017 and 2021 with all of them being accepted at their first-choice schools (Royal Russell and two at Dulwich College). My main focus with both children was Maths, however we also went over some useful techniques for non-verbal reasoning and English exams. I also have experience preparing pupils for how to best approach interviews and how to lay out their thoughts in such high pressure situations, as well as tutoring pupils in preparation for specialised scholarship examinations. - During the Summer of 2015 and 2016 I volunteered at my old Primary School and was lucky enough to give Maths extension classes to a group of gifted-and-talented students aged 10-11. Tutoring Approach: Having worked with over 15 students for a total of over 300 hours, I fully appreciate the importance of different learning styles, from visual to auditory, and the unique methods needed to push each student to their full potential. It is through adapting my teaching methods to such styles that I strive to keep lessons engaging and fun, while also piquing students’ further interest in the subject - all the while keeping academic success at the forefront of lessons.
